Apartment Sun - This spacious, comfortable apartment is a wonderful place to stay in Sorrento; it is a 5 minute stroll to the centre of Sorrento; 10minute walk to the Circumvesuviana Station where you can take trains and buses all round the Bay of Naples and 15minute walk to the port where you can take boats to Capri, Amalfi and Naples. There are 2 supermarkets next to the apartment, a pizzeria and a travel agent across the road for booking tours. Giuliana of Elegant Escapes is delightful; speaks perfect English and responds immediately to any enquiries. The charming owner would arrive within hours to fix any faults (all were minor). Luigi, the gateman is very helpful, particularly with the apartment keys which can be tricky. On arriving at the apartment we all exclaimed with delight as the apartment is better than we could have hoped. It is on the top, fifth floor (there is a lift) of the apartment block and through French Windows, there are wonderful balconies all around with magnificent views particularly of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Each evening was a pleasure just to sit on the balcony and watch the lights around the Bay- and often firework displays. There are several place to sit and eat on the balconies and the lounge/dining room are well appointed The kitchen is basic but has all required for a holiday stay. Having 2 bathrooms was excellent. The apartment was very clean and the furniture was comfortable and attractive. We stayed for 2 weeks and I would happily recommend this apartment to others.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Apartment Sun for 5 days. It was absolutely perfect and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the outset, Giuliana at Elegant Escape Villas was so helpful with making the arrangements, responding to emails and queries quickly and professionally. She even managed to make parking arrangements for us at a discounted rate. Also, her English is excellent, which is very helpful as our Italian is not! The apartment exceeded our expectations. It is ideally situated in Sorrento, just a few minutes' walk from town and yet in a quiet apartment block. It's the penthouse apartment, with an impressive wrap-around balcony with breathtaking views out across the Bay of Naples. We were only 4 people, so the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were ample room. It could comfortably accommodate more people, as the living space was large. It was furnished and decorated to a good standard, and impeccably clean. The kitchen was rather basic, but it managed to do the trick. The only recommendation is that the owners/agency should make sure there are enough basic provisions (e.g. dish soap, toilet paper, laundry soap), as these all ran out and we had to purchase more. I'd happily recommend this apartment and Elegant Escape Villas, and will look to use them again should our travels take us back to the Sorrento area.

Fanatastic apartment. You walk out of either of the two bedrooms, or the lounge, and you walk straight out onto a wonderful terrace. There are tables and chairs on two parts of the terrace, two sun loungers on two other parts of the terrace, one with an outside shower! The views are breathtaking, the hills at the back and the sea and vesuvious to the front. The apartment is fantastic and has everything you would need, and more! It is like home from home. The owners and really lovely and nothing is too much for them, as are the rental agents (Elegant Escapes). If you need to rent in Italy, use Elegant Escapes, they are really the best! They are very helpful and will put themselves out to ensure you everything that you need for your holiday. They are extremely knowledgeable about the area and can organise any trips that you require. I highly recommend the apartment and Elegant Escapes and would like to thank them - and the owners of the apartment - for giving us such a lovely time in Sorrento! A BIG THANK YOU!

We stayed in Apartment Sun, a penthouse apartment in Sorrento, during late June, 2013. The apartment, located in a safe, walkable area about 10 minutes from Piazza Tasso and the train station, is reached from the ground floor by the 2-person lift or by stairs. With two good sized two bedrooms and two baths, it had plenty of space for our family (Mom & Dad and two adult daughters). In fact, counting the sofa-bed in the living room there is enough sleeping space for two more guests. Adjacent to the dining room is a functional, well-equipped kitchen. We didnt prepare many meals there, but certainly could have. However, be sure to pay attention to Sorrentos recycling system. Apartment Suns washing machine allowed us to pack lighter than usual. With the help of its instruction manual and a few babblefish tranlations, we quickly mastered its controls. To everyones delight, the newly-installed WiFi system worked perfectly everywhere in the apartment. Its worth mentioning two other apartment features that really stood out for us. First, Apartment sun has four sets of floor-to-ceiling glass doors that can be opened to catch the evening breezes. With no air conditioning, those breezes helped keep the apartment comfortable during the evenings. Second, the apartment features a really big wrap-around (270 degree) deck with an outstanding view of the Bay of Naples (spectacular at night), Vesuvio, and a sliver of Marina Picola to the north; territorial views to the west and south. From early-morning moka pot espressos to late evening glasses of wine, the three different seating afforded plenty of comfortable areas to enjoy the sights. Finally, Id like to praise the staff at Elegant Escapes. They were excellent and did what they said they would do. Giulianna and Irene of Elegant Escapes promptly answered all our e-mails and texts and helped us navigate the somewhat tricky (for us) funds transfers from the US to Sorrento. Christina (a recent hospitality management grad from the Univ. Naples) met us after our arrival from the train station, welcomed us with a nice bottle of wine, and explained how to operate the apartment. Growing up in the area, she had many great suggestions about things to do, places to see, and food to eat. As we had early flights leaving from Naples on our day of departure, she graciously agreed to meet us the evening before to check out and return our deposit.

We chose Apartment Daisy for its affordability (we could sleep our family of 5 people for just £60 a night) and its incredible location moments from the main square Piazza Tasso (2 minutes), trains, buses (mostly 5 minutes when we were hurrying, 10 mins maximum) and ferries (lift down to the ferries is very nearby too so can get here in ten minutes or less) and we were really pleased with our stay here. Giuliana and Irene are both charming, speak excellent English and went out of their way to accommodate all our requests and be as helpful as possible, promptly replying to emails and turning up at hours that suited us with extra blankets, chairs etc when we requested them, answering all our questions, and in particular accommodating our check in/out times, allowing us to enjoy every moment of our stay in Sorrento. Their colleague Christiana who checked us in and out was also charming and very helpful and her recommendations for restaurants were great. It was perfect when we came home exhausted from our excursions to be able to reach our apartment in moments from the transport systems, and then freshen up before going out again for dinner. Considering its central location it was pretty quiet, only on a couple of mornings did we hear what we guessed were delivery vans. Its a bright, airy, quirky apartment with high ceilings and mezzanine levels fitted into this height to provide the extra bedrooms. The double bed and main sofa bed are particularly comfortable, the other sofa bed is fine though not quite as wide, we only had one person in this one although it could take two if you needed it to. There is a hot water tank and the shower is fine for 4 or 5 quick showers, or two or three longer ones, we staggered ours a bit to fit them all in as it only takes half an hour for the tank to heat up again. It was really helpful that there was some washing up liquid, sponge, soap, toilet roll and toiletries for us to use. Supermarkets and grocery stores nearby too. Were really glad we chose this apartment and would definitely stay here again if we came back. We are a family with three older kids - could not find this option to select! Would recommend for families with children who are fine with stairs.

Very warm welcome by Christina. Perfect location close to supermarkets & smaller corner shop (fresh vegetables, fruit & bread). Center of Sorrento near by. Easy access to train & buses. Perfect base to explore the region.
Apartment itself was on calm residential area. Beautiful views from terrace. Well equipped. Very clean. Big enough for a family of five.
Do recommend warmly.

Left on Jun 9, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

There were 12 of us staying at the villa at various times over a three week period. The view, being within walking distance to the center of Positano, pool and 5 minute walk to the closest beach were the reasons I chose Magenta. The two high points of the villa were the view and the staff. Ellena (the cook), Katarina (house keeper) and Dominico (gardener, handyman and luggage carrier) were phenomenal! Anything we wanted, all we had to do was ask. Ellena recommended a great local place for dinner and cooked wonderful authentic Italian meals. She even held a cooking class and showed us how to make gnocchi. Mara, the owner of the villa, invited us for drinks when she discovered it was my daughters birthday. She also recommended several very good restaurants in town and provided us with the name of a masseuse who gave us massages right in the villa. The only downside was that the indoor furniture was not comfortable and there were a few cold and rainy days where we had to stay inside. You could feel the springs in the chairs and sofas. The two master bedroom mattresses were so hard we had to put towels down for padding. It needs a little face lift but we were fine with that. The pool is not heated and being at the beginning of the season, it was very cold. I am sure it would have been fine after a few more weeks of warm weather. Elegant Escapes was the rental company I used. I can not say enough good things about Christina, Irene and Giuliana. They went above and beyond. One of my group had to change an Alitalia flight and it could only be done over the phone and we did not speak Italian. Christina took care of the situation. They also arranged for a bus and guide to Herculaneum and Pompeii, several cars to/from the airport and so on.
